Table 45 at the InterContinental features seven dining areas serving World Cuisine

Chef Zachary Bruell entered Cleveland's culinary scene in the 1980s, founding soon thereafter the renowned restaurant, Z Contemporary. Now firmly established and considered more of a dining legend than an upstart, Bruell has just launched his most ambitious endeavor yet.

The new Table 45 combines gracious dining with innovative flavorings inside Cleveland's InterContinental Hotel. The restaurant sports what Bruell calls World Cuisine -- meaning exotic spices and herbs and sauces inspired by cultures worldwide. That includes such dishes as Peruvian braised lamb shank with farfel, seared duck breast madras with vadouvan sauce and basmati rice, and grilled Kurobuta pork chops with chipotle jam and cornmeal madeleines.

The new restaurant also features such innovations as ambient sound computer monitoring linked to the audio system to continuously adjust music levels to the changing moods of the seven separate dining areas. Yes, we said seven dining areas, some of which are architected to generate high-energy and others to provide a more serene environment.

Other unique features include a private chef's table in the main kitchen, a separate and open show kitchen in the center of the dining room with a tandoor oven, VIP tables with illuminated glass enclosures and an adjoining semi-private lounge. Just opened Apr. 6.
